Planned Parenthood’s Idea of Christmas

As it does every Christmas season, Planned Parenthood e-mails its supporters a Christmas card titled, "Choice on Earth." This year it has an accompanying video on "Moments that inspired us in 2007." One of the highlights of the year is the opening of a new clinic in Aurora, Illinois.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue ripped into this today:

"Planned Parenthood says it stands for choice. So do serial killers and rapists. Jeffrey Dahmer believed in choice as well. Choice, of course, carries no moral quotient by itself-it must have an object. And the object of choice that Planned Parenthood prizes is killing kids in utero. But to admit this is to admit to a moral monstrosity. Which explains why it prefers to talk about a woman's ‘right to choose,' without ever finishing the sentence.

"The introductory statement to the video that is found on its website says, ‘It's been quite a year for Planned Parenthood and the women, men and families that we serve.' Notice that they didn't mention women, men and children. That's because the kids are a problem.

"But not just any kids. The kids of white people are not a problem-it's the kids of minorities that exercise Planned Parenthood. Founded for racist reasons-African Americans were the original problem-Planned Parenthood has now evolved into fixing another problem: Latinos. That's why it set up its spanking new clinic in Aurora, a town that is heavily Latino.

"If Planned Parenthood needs to rip off some special day in the calendar in order to sell its sick message, let it pick some day other than Christmas. We recommend Day of the Dead."

    That is a great point!  I am so sick of Planned Parenthood thinking they have a commodity on the word "choice".  As Bill says, they have monopolized that word because they don't want to have to elaborate on the ugly choice it represents.  And as far as the "Choice on Earth" cards, that is sickening.  I knew that they had sent those out a few years ago, but I didn't realize that this was an annual thing.  How about the choice for unborn babies on the earth?  They don't advocate choice at all, just one very narrow and warped version of it.

    Referring back to these evil objectives does not seem oafish.  Seems more foolish to ignore them.

    Bill, are you saying caucasian babies are not aborted? To agitate minorities against planned parenthood by conjuring up enmity for whites is an oafish thing to do. Is this the best argument you got? That kind of misrepresentation generally comes only from a buffoon.

    True, plenty of white babies are aborted.  But Margaret Sanger, who founded Planned Parenthood, targeted ethnic minorities including blacks, as well as people from low income populations.  This is something that the pro-abortion intellectual elitists seem to ignore or be unaware of.  They are grateful to her for "helping" those from low income backgrounds, but they fail to notice how this frequently ends up being a racist cause.  Her guise of trying to help people is just a disguise for her prejudices, a legacy which Planned Parenthood continues to perpetuate.

    I suppose then we should not point out that PPA continues to target minority areas for their "women's clinics" [by the way, if you're ever out praying the rosary outside one, don't cut your finger — they don't even have band-aids at these "clinics"] If there is misrepresentation going on, I don't think Mr. Donohue is the buffoon doing it.

    "Just enough us us; way too many of you" seems to be PPA's unofficial motto.

    PTR, You're coming up with your own argument to debate, not what I actually said. I quoted Donohue thusly, "The kids of white people are not a problem-it's the kids of minorities that exercise Planned Parenthood."   Since 60% of babies being aborted are white, my point is that only a bumpkin would say something so untruthful. It would be just as accurate to say, "Planned Parenthood was founded by someone raised in the Catholic tradition", while not mentioning the strongest advocate for babies is the Catholic Church. Can you not see that, or is it you just don't want to see it?

      

    I will address your point anyway, "Planned Parenthood's goals regarding eugenics and racial purification are published". So how is that relevant for today's Planned Parenthood and Donohue's false argument concerning the racial percentages of babies being aborted?? That's equivalent to browsing the 1916 curriculum of Georgetown University to attend in 2008. Did it ever occur to you the culture has changed over the years, and the administrators are coming from a completely different ideology? Since you have to actually know your adversary in order to defeat him, false arguments like Donohue's do not further the discussion. Period.

    Oh.

    I didn't realize they had been planning these "clinics" for the past eighty years.

    So… d'ya think they are putting the "clinics" in minority neighborhoods because 40% of the population is black and hispanic?

    'Cause they're not – it's about 14% black and (depending on the region) 14% hispanic.

    On the other hand, if 40% of the abortions are coming from that demographic, then they are over-represented and whites are under-represented.

    While I wouldn't have said "white babies are not the problem" because they certainly are seen as a hindrance to the libertine lifestyle of many whites (who don't want an abortion mill in their neighborhood), but I don't see how what Mr. Donohue said is a false argument, much less worthy of being called an imbecile, oaf and buffoon.

    On second thought, I may be wrong here. Even though it sounds too pc for my taste, it's possible Donohue is purposely prostrating and self-flagellating himself to show the cultural marxists abortion is wrong. That has been a part of the Catholic tradition. In any case, only Bill really knows so I apologize to him.

    What's going on will Bill Donohue? This is strange commentary from him. And earlier in the week he heavily criticized Mike Huckabee for having a "subliminal cross" in the background of his Christmas video, when, in fact, it was just a bookcase being panned. Whether or not this was intentional, who cares? If so, it was clever, if not, it's a cool coincidence. The strongest pro-life president the United States has ever seen, and Bill Donohue criticizes him. I don't get it. And, again, I don't get the above commentary either. What exactly is he saying? That PP only goes after minorities because PP has an agenda? Their agenda is killing for money, no matter what color, religion, etc. etc.

    I do not know what Mr. Donohue has in mind, but a few thoughts of my own:

    1) I was unaware of any bruhaha over Mr. Huckabee, since he sort of apologized for the anti-Catholic remarks of one of his campaign workers.

    2) As posted above, although perhaps not very well on my part, PP does target minorities, although they seem to never have met a pregnant woman they didn't like — to talk into aborting.

    3) Many in the pro-life movement are exasperated because, with the strongest pro-life President we've ever had, and with six years of the majority party in both houses of government, what we got was federal approval for research on the limited lines of human embryos already in use, and continued abortion on demand with no discernable agenda to make it a priority to do anything about it.

    If this is what we get when the wood is green, what will happen when the wood is dry?

    Well, Protect the Rock, I would have to say learn about Mike Huckabee at MikeHuckabee.com and maybe you will even vote for him. He has said he will sign any document that passes his desk for life. I no doubt think he would have assuredly stopped the execution of Terri Schindler Schiavo. He's not afraid to talk about Jesus or pro-life causes. I do not know why a pro-lifer would not vote for him and I'm concerned over so many Catholics in "high" places going against him. It makes no sense to me at all.

    And, of course, I realize PP moved to Aurora to target the Hispanics … they are evil through and through … the commentary was just rather strange that Donohue put out there. And you are sooooooo right, "PP has never met a pregnant woman they didn't like." If they do not change, how can they escape Hell?

    I think Donohue is playing one sentence against another for emphasis, and not total accuracy. I'm sure he knows the numbers and we know of his integrity, so let's give him the benefit of any doubt.

    Huckabee is about to speak (or, did today?) at a church run by a vehement anti-Catholic Baptist preacher. Seems Huck is buttering both sides of his bread. Liability: Huckabee.

    Huckabee is a fiscal liberal. If and when you meet him, ask him how he intends to ‘conserve’ what’s in your wallet so you can spend it or give it to charities as you will.

    Dear P.S., he's also a stallwart of the "Comprehensive Amnesty" campaign.  Maybe he thinks that's part of his "pro life-issues" stance, but he's got another think coming.

    I've been fighting for the bare essentials at my house. My water has been restored so my Carrol ends with glad tidings of comfort and joy.

    A petard is a primitive grenade.  When an early grenadier had a fuse that was too short or too fast, he was "hoist by his own petard," which is to say, blasted off his feet by his own bomb.
