Our Crucified Lord!

2 Corinthians 5:21

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

We adore you, O Christ, and bless you because by your Holy Cross, you have redeemed the world! Words fail us, and we are left with the mute gestures of sorrow, of contrition, of thanks for the awful sacrifice lifted before our eyes: a gesture beyond words, cutting through the curtain of reality like eternal lightning to take us all down with you to death and up with you to heaven. Thank you, our Crucified Lord!

Amen, Mark — words are indeed inadequate before the immensity of the Cross, and of the love of the One who hangs from this blessed tree.  We often speak of deep love as being "crazy about" someone.  Well, I thank Our Lord for being "crazy" in love with us — and I'm sure "crazy about" Him.  Blessed be Our Crucified Lord!
