San Diego Minutemen Harass Catholics

The San Diego Minutemen have chosen to target St. Peter's Church in Fallbrook, California, and some of the protests have been accompanied by anti-Catholic bigotry. Catholic League president Bill Donohue explained today why the League is joining the issue on the side of the Church:

"Father Edward ‘Bud' Kaicher, pastor of the suburban San Diego parish, has extended a helping hand to day workers seeking employment in the area, and for this he has been displayed in effigy as Satan. Worse, the right-wing brigade of Minutemen has harassed Catholics going to church, used bullhorns to spout their invective, have uttered patently anti-Catholic remarks at parishioners and have even stooped so low as to intimidate little kids on the day of their First Communion.

"Showing how incredibly debased and uncivil they are, the San Diego Minutemen have sought to paint all priests as pedophiles and have pledged to continue their incivility all summer long. To top it off, the xenophobes are illiterate. ‘With all the pediphelia [sic] problems going on in the Church,' a posting on its Internet site says, ‘it makes no sense to have 50 loitering men watching little children playing on the playground each morning.'

"There are legitimate ways to protest. This is not one of them. By succumbing to anti-Catholic bigotry and harassment, the San Diego Minutemen have discredited their cause and have no moral grounds upon which to make their appeal. They should be opposed not only by Latino Catholics, but by all Catholics."

Father Edward ‘Bud' Kaicher knows 95% of these "workers" are illegals. He also knows hiring them is against the law. Maybe he should just keep his nose out of it.

I haven't heard much about the massive settlement soon to come out in California for the priest scandal. Considering the media was all over it not too long ago, has Cardinal Mahoney been supporting illegal immigration to curry favor with them?

"With roughly 33 million illegal aliens already residing in the United States, and an estimated 150 to 215 million more to come during the next 18 years as law enforcement effectiveness breaks down, the sheer power of vast numbers of illegal aliens will dictate the course of our nation.

Lacking assimilation, by 2035, the United States of America will be so balkanized and segregated by race, color, creed, language, and culture that our nation will be a land of “mutual acrimony” among the unassimilated multi-cultural populations."  Anyone helping this forward is a scoundrel.

Whether or not Father Kaicher's actions are appropriate does not justify the bigory and harrassment of parishoners by the Minutemen.

Only the socialists can be the bigots in this case.

The people who are shouting anti-Catholic remarks at the parishioners certainly sound bigoted to me.

    God loves you .

Yes, these Minutemen are reacting with a fierce bigotry – but, too, to such enlightened bigotry – ‘compassion’ yet again, don’cha know – as the Caridinal’s.

I can’t abide either bigotry, frankly. However, even shouting epithets at First Communuion children will hardly have the impact on culture, economy – yea, freedom and our very lives – as a dangerous flood of illegal entrants to our country.

The Cardinal Mahoney, the Father Kaicher, have not addressed that impact, except as they seem to deliberately ignore it.

    Remember, I love you, too

If we Love our neighbor as the Lord has taught us to do, as a nation, the Lord will bless this nation.  But we can't even get all Catholics to agree with this belief, how can we get our nation to come together on this.  Our neighbors from the south are Americans also, check your maps, it's all AMERICA, North, Central and South America.  God's Law overrules all law, at least for us Christians.  Think about it.  God is Love!Laughing
