seamless

by Jonathan Hunter-Kilmer

laid out

and scattered

will and thought

as flour, milk, sugar and clotted

cream

to make a pudding cake

mine mix with Yours

as manna flake

sent pure by You

I take and hold

create new flesh

refurbish soul

lance swollen self by other filled

and drain then change

brimful ours willed

You gather cleanse the scattered bits

a garment luxuriant fits

and miss the bits that we don't want

that had my skin and heart starved gaunt

then purpled, goldened, whitened bright

with Your dear eyes I receive sight

and passion fold into myself

around and through

Beloved

no stealth

but free and knowing

burst of Son

Your crimson loss

my life has won
